XX-XY Athletics Tees Were Banned in State Farm Arena

Over the weekend, Kasey Thomason and her daughter Annie attended the Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever game at State Farm Arena. They came to support Sophie Cunningham, the Fever guard who has spoken publicly in support of keeping girls’ sports for girls.

Kasey wore a red, white, and blue XX-XY Athletics logo tee. Everything was fine until the final two minutes of overtime, when a woman sitting nearby in a “Protect Trans Kids” shirt spoke to security and pointed toward them.

Soon after, security approached Kasey and Annie. They were offered free “Wellness Night” shirts sponsored by Emory Healthcare and told to cover their XX-XY tees or be escorted out.

They put the shirts on because they wanted to stay and watch the end of the game.

The Fever won that night, but free expression lost.

And this wasn’t the first incident.
