Introducing the XX-XY Athletics Gold Medal Collection

Olympic silver medalist, MyKayla Skinner Harmer

Olympic silver medalist MyKayla Skinner breaks her silence on raising a daughter in today’s sports world — joining a first-of-its-kind, multi-generational alliance of Olympians speaking out to protect fair competition for women and girls.

The Gold Medal Collection Launch

With just over 100 days until the Winter Olympics, XX-XY Athletics launches the Gold Medal Collection — honoring Olympians past and present – featuring MyKayla Skinner, Olympic silver medalist (vault), 2x NCAA champion (floor & vault), and role model for girl athletes.

Few high-profile athletes have transitioned from Olympian to motherhood with such grace — and now Skinner is preparing to become a mom of two.

In this partnership, Skinner shares her perspective on raising a daughter in today’s sports world — her first time speaking publicly on the topic. True to XX-XY Athletics’ mission of empowering female athletes to use their voices, she has full creative control over the content series.

“I am excited to partner with Jennifer Sey and her pro-woman XX-XY Athletics to tell my story as an athlete and a woman,” Skinner said. “Finding my voice has been hard — there’s no training for that. But every female athlete should find and use hers. No one trains you for moral courage or unwavering positivity — that’s a different kind of journey. I’m going to share that too. Why? To use my platform to be a positive role model for female athletes. But really, this is for my daughter.”

A Tribute to Olympic Excellence

The Gold Medal Collection combines performance and casual pieces, each accented with hints of gold to celebrate Olympic excellence.

Now, a multigenerational alliance of Olympians is joining Skinner and XX-XY Athletics in a first-of-its-kind brand partnership to defend fairness in women’s sports — including:

Nancy Hogshead, J.D. — Champion for Women’s Sports

Nancy Hogshead, J.D. — Three-time Olympic gold medalist and silver medalist swimmer. Founder of Champion Women and the Women’s Sports Policy Working Group, Hogshead  has secured support from over 500 Olympians, Paralympians, Deaflympians and professional athletes for strict eligibility policies for girls’ and women’s sports.

Nancy Hogshead, J.D. — Champion for Women’s Sports

“Only strict eligibility standards for girls' and women's sports can guarantee fair, safe and respectful competition for us,” said Hogshead. “More than 500 Olympians & Paralympians are playing it forward by signed Champion Women’s petition; they understand the dedication required to succeed and firmly support future generations of athletes by advocating for a level playing field for all."

Jaycee Bassett — The Next Generation of Champions

Jaycee Bassett – currently ranked the #2 Finweight in the world and the 2024 Pan American champion, is a rising star on the international stage of Taekwondo. She recently earned Gold in two major international tournaments in Gold Coast, Australia and Lima, Peru. XX-XY Athletics is proud to support Bassett as she prepares for the World Championships in China this October. Jaycee will share her intense training journey in a social media storytelling series across our platforms.

Jaycee Bassett — The Next Generation of Champions

“As an athlete training to be the best in the world, I look up to women like Nancy and MyKayla, who’ve paved the way,” said Bassett. “But I also know it’s on my generation to speak up and protect the path. Every hour I’ve spent training has been to test myself against the best female athletes in the world. If I’m ever asked to compete against a male, I’ll refuse. The integrity of competition relies on a level playing field for every female athlete that invests her time, dedication and sacrifice in her pursuit of excellence."

Other Olympians Joining the Gold Medal Collection

  • Shannon Grady — Former professional runner, All-American, 6x Team USA (Triathlon), 4x Top 10 ITU World Championships

  • Réka György — Active Olympian swimmer (Rio 2016), NCAA standout, and young advocate for fairness in athletics

“Olympic athletes are the ultimate competitors, training right now to be the best in the world,” said XX-XY Athletics CEO and national champion gymnast Jennifer Sey. “They’re not giving their podium away anymore."

Competition, by its very nature, is exclusive. Athletes lose their shot at Olympic Trials by hundredths of a second, and only a few ever medal. There are categories—by age, weight, and more—to ensure fairness. In competitive athletics, inclusion is not the goal. A fair fight, in which someone comes out on top, is what makes it exhilarating. It’s why athletes push themselves to get better. And it’s why we love sports.

“We wouldn’t accept even one case of doping. Likewise, Olympians will not accept men competing in women’s sports. Data shows over sixty males have competed at the Olympic level in just one sport. Generations of athletes are standing up for fair competition and for one another. Supporting real athletes and real competition — that’s what XX-XY Athletics stands for.”
